About this Treatment
  • Limited reports on the efficacy in PFIC but has been trialed in refractory (= hard to treat) itch

  • This is primarily an anti-seizure medication. A secondary effect of Gabapentin seems to be to inhibit a peptide that is involved in mediating itch. has been used when itch is thought to have a neuropathic or central nervous system origin.
